I defy the dim distancing, dark of December and instead embrace the shift
from heading towards less to turning and yearning towards more.
Kindling the flame of kindness,
we light the night bright
with delight
And become the flame that ignites all the other candles.
As we joyfully and mindfully share our inner spark with the dark
we blaze a trail!!
Not one of direction, but one of intent
Not one of arrival, but one of being in this moment in such a way
that we conspire to inspire and celebrate the light
that is ever present
yet just now drawing closer in form,
soon returning again to keep us warm.
And gradually day by day,
as we tilt towards greater introspection,
even bundled up and burrowed in,
we revel in the comfort of a hibernation that allows us to
dream and pause, withdraw but not withhold
rather allows to unfold
all the inner wisdom wanting to be known and grown
in the darkness
that like a luxurious velvet cape
is slowly lifting, even as it covers us now
with its silky, snowy, cold and dark-
we remember the arc
and know that warmth and light always follow.
As love flows from deep within our hearts
we become a part of the rebirth, the renewal
that first requires a descent into darkness
or how would we know and appreciate the light?

So joined together (here) in joy we celebrate
Joined together in consciousness
we sing and dance and feast
knowing that it all begins again.
The joy and rhythm of the ever-continuing cycle
brings order and draws us across the border
of feeling we are alone in the dark
and into that realm of interconnectedness
where all seeds germinate
in the compost of conditions that we’ve created
and are now releasing
into the womb of infinite possibility.
Let’s embrace the shadows and do the winter’s inner work of letting go of the old
and stepping into the new!
Let us renew our commitment
to the planet! to the sun! to the One that is all life, and to each other!
Let us celebrate life!
Let us celebrate light
in all its ebbs and flows-
we know it is never gone for good.
It is what we are-
Stardust and light
Energy and vibration-
So raise your voices and move your feet
and let’s feast not fear
Winter is here!!
And with it comes the ever-brightening sun
symbolizing the ever present One
deep inside us all.
Let’s call it forth and not allow for love
to lie dormant in the dark and cold,
but rather show it to be so bold
that it warms your heart until fiery bright
others are drawn to your hearth,
and draw comfort there.
We are the place where love and light reside.
